Return policy
This Return Policy applies to all purchases made on katana-sword.com.au.
We encourage you to read it carefully before placing an order.
1) 14-day return window
We accept returns within 14 days of the delivery date, for both defective and non-defective items. Returns are accepted for new, unused items only.
This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which may entitle you to a remedy
if a product is faulty, not as described, or not of acceptable quality.
2) Exchanges
We accept exchanges within the same 14-day window. Contact our support team and we will arrange the exchange for another item of your choice.
3) Personalised swords
Swords built to your own specifications (custom configurator, engraving) are made uniquely for you and cannot be returned for change of mind. They remain fully covered by the Australian Consumer Law if they are faulty, not as described, or not of acceptable quality.
4) Return conditions
Non-defective items must be unused, unmodified, and returned with their original components and packaging. These conditions do not limit remedies for faulty goods under Australian Consumer Law; original packaging is not required to exercise those rights.
5) How to return an item
Returns are sent by mail. Please contact our support team before shipping a return so we can provide your return authorisation and the return address. This process does not restrict your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
For returns not related to product defects, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and we do not provide a prepaid return label.
If a product is confirmed defective or not compliant with Australian Consumer Law, return shipping costs will be covered or reimbursed.
We recommend using a tracked shipping service as we cannot be responsible for lost return parcels.
6) Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 days of receiving the returned item. We charge no restocking fee. Your payment provider may need additional time to display the credit.
7) Damaged or defective items
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or significantly different from its description, please contact us within 14 days of delivery where possible. Please include clear photos and a description of the issue so our team can review your request. This reporting period does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
In accordance with Australian Consumer Law, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund depending on whether the issue is considered minor or major.
8) Refused deliveries
If a parcel is refused at delivery or not collected from the carrier, return and handling costs charged by the carrier
may be deducted from the refund, unless the refusal is due to a verified product issue.
9) Non-returnable situations
Refunds cannot be granted if the item is seized, destroyed, or refused by customs or authorities due to local regulations,
incorrect address information provided by the customer, or failure to complete carrier procedures.
These situations do not apply if your rights under Australian Consumer Law entitle you to a remedy.
